Circus Dog 101 New for 2014!
Does your dog love being the centre of attention and being in the limelight? Does he have you jumping through hoops? Then this class is for you!
In this class you will learn tricks and play games – all the while improving training skills and learning about behaviour. And your dog will be the one jumping through hoops! Circus Dog will teach you new ways to have fun with and train your dog!
Pre-requisite: gifted puppy or level 1. On leash control is necessary.
Attention-Trial Prep New for Winter 2014
This is for the experienced handler who is planning to compete seriously in Obedience or in Rally and is willing to work on precision and details. The exercises taught will establish reliable connection with your dog and will create a solid foundation for any competitive obedience level exercise.
Some elements taught are: eye contact, attention recipe, foundation exercises, prompts and props, reward timing, etc. The training is based on reinforcing and rewarding your dog’s correct choices and decisions, for lasting accurate performance.
Then we’ll add some trial practice at the end of the session through individual exercise assessments and a mock trial.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Novice or instructor recommendation. This class would be an excellent complement in addition to taking a Novice or Open class.
Please see the Registration tab for the complete schedule.
About Swansea Dog Obedience Club
The Swansea Dog Obedience Club (SDOC) is a not-for-profit volunteer club. Members of the Club volunteer their time to promote responsible dog ownership through class instruction, seminars, obedience trials, agility competitions, and pet visitations to seniors’ residences.
Since 1974, the Club has successfully instructed thousands of dogs and their owners in puppy, basic obedience, competitive obedience, Rally-O and Agility classes.
At Swansea, praise and positive motivation and reinforcement are combined to enable every dog to reach its full potential as a well behaved companion or a participant in competitions.
Our classes are held in the west end of Toronto, Ontario at St. Matthew’s Church (3962 Bloor St. West, a few blocks east of Hwy. 427).
We look forward to seeing you at our classes.
