Swansea
Dog Obedience Club (SDOC) had its origins in a small summer obedience school
operated by Judy Rich. The classes were held in Swansea Park, Toronto,
hence the current name of the Club. The summer classes originated in 1970,
but soon expanded to winter classes at West Park Public School, with Bob
and Sylvia Milne coming on board with Judy.
The Swansea Dog Obedience Club is an officially accredited club of the Canadian Kennel Club. This recognition allows the Club to hold CKC approved Obedience events of the sport (Obedience trials, etc.). We also have our Constitution and By-laws approved and on file with the CKC.

About Swansea Dog Obedience Club
The Swansea Dog Obedience Club (SDOC) is a not-for-profit volunteer club. Our classes are held in the west end of Toronto, Ontario at St. Matthew's Church (3962 Bloor St. West, a few blocks east of Hwy. 427).
Since 1974, the Club has successfully instructed thousands of dogs and their owners through basic obedience training. Members of the Club volunteer their time to promote responsible dog ownership through class instruction, seminars, obedience trials, agility competitions, and pet visitations to seniors' residences.
At Swansea, praise, positive motivation, and correction are combined to enable every dog to reach its full potential as a well behaved companion or a participant in competitions.
